Most Important Decisions
Its difficult to say but yes moving from Testing domain to starting up my own company was the biggest decision made, and its making me feel the sweet pressure when you move from other side of table the world changes.
Required Reading
QA's responsibility is never captured in 1 book and in 1 blog but I feel everyone should read the book Software Testing: A Craftsman's Approach, Third Edition, Managing the Testing Process: Practical Tools and Techniques for Managing Hardware and Software Testing and SIX SIGMA procedure.
Tech trends to watch out for
Testing in Cloud Computing, Security Testing and the most I love it Testing using Automation techniques and tools.
Currently working at
I am now involved as CTO of ASN Solutions & Infotech Private Limited, I role is to support the Voice Call Center and support the PSR lab which is in the construction stage and define strategy and goals for testing the best knitted software.
A Fine Balance:
The weekends provide me the best opportunity to give my time to my family and see to that I look and the priority things and my mother and wife takes care of smaller things and a quality time with my kids help me make my work life balance easy.
Essential Advice
Testing is a very important responsibility in the SDLC, you need to focus on what you want to test and be very aggressive, I always tell my QA team the relation of Developer and Tester nothing less than Tom and Jerry relation at the end of testing you will come to know are you a Tom or Jerry.
The Journey So Far
I started as a data entry operator with Indian Express Newspaper, the Newsprint industry taught me what does it means to be 110% perfect , this gave me feeling what goes out should be 110% accurate, and the different domain security, legal during bmy career path added feather in my cap.
Current and Previous Responsibilities
Previously I use to be relaxed as I am handling a team now I am handling an organization, so the reputation of my organization is at stake there is just a smaller difference between employee and employer that is readiness, responsibility and reliability.
Plans for the Future
I see my self getting the best software tested from my organization, my name its self will be enough to trust the software is best.
Changes in the industry
Its now moved from reliability to responsibility previous QA to common man was just an manufacturing industry job, now its more how good is your product tested, when I started the career it was is the product QA tested than surely its costly now its if its QA tested than the words are ROI is sure.
Points of inflection
The inflection has been from Developer to QA to management and to an company operation, it has various modulation in it, but this has proved to an additional growth for me in terms of intellectual and technical strong the management skill had helped to groom people.
Most Important Lessons
"Tomorrow never comes because when tomorrow comes its actually today so tomorrow moves to next day", treat an employee and asset but never a burden.
Parting thoughts
Nothing to add but yes, people say you grow because of luck and support I totally deny its smart work, team work, dedication and your self esteem.
