Essential Advice
Don't chose testing as your career by force, choose it when you are really interested
Areas for the Future
Manual Testing is the base for any sort of testing activities. Many tools are available for Test Management, Automation etc. Better to have a basic knowledge on few tools(hands on if possible).
A Fine Balance:
Proper planning should be done in advance at all the levels(individually and w.r.t. the team). Should measure the progress, evaluate periodically and try to fill the gaps. When proper plan is implemented, there would be no stretch and no stress at work.
