Most Important Decisions
Moving out from the BPO Industry and joining the software industry in 2005. Since then there has been no stopping.
The Journey So Far
Started off in Daksh as a Technical Support Executive, then moved in to software industry with Analec Infotech Pvt. Ltd. and now working as a QA Manager
Currently working at
As a QA Manager, leading various business accounts and new initiatives in the organization. The latest initiative undertaken was starting a Testing Services group focusing only on taking outsource testing projects.
A Fine Balance:
I have kind of like taken this as well like a project. So I ensure that at least 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening are kept separate only for family and then I ensure that every 3 months I spend 1 full weekend with family on vacation.

Degrees that Matter
I am a Bachelors in Computer Applications and an DOEACC A Level certified. However i personally feel that someone who has basic degree in Computers and an attitude to do Re-engineering and break the things can be a successful tester. Testing is more of an attitude thing than training.
Plans for the Future
Planning to open a services company of my own shortly, where we would be handling third party testing project only.
Changes in the industry
It seems to have changed a lot in 9 years.... the current being more focused on Mobile and Handheld devices, with Agile being the talk of the town.
Testers getting more agile and working on monkey testing.
Most Important Lessons
Your success is dependent on your hard work only and sometimes on goof up of your peers as well ;-)
Parting thoughts
Not really...
Current and Previous Responsibilities
In my previous role I was more focused on getting the deliveries out to the client, meeting their expectations etc.
In the current role I define my own growth path by choosing the projects that we should bid for, more focus on cost and productivity.
Areas for the Future
Having experience on Mobile and handheld applications, these apps are currently at a stage where Web applications were once around 10 years back so this is the most up-coming area as per me.
