SoftBase Announces General Availability of TestBase Version 5.1
Bangalore: SoftBase, a leading global provider of DB2 z/OS coding, testing and maintenance solutions, has announced the General Availability of its test data management solution, TestBase, version 5.1.
TestBase allows DB2 shops to test new database applications faster and with fewer resources, reducing both time to market and overall development costs. TestBase also enables data archiving and retrieval to help keep production databases at manageable levels while enabling backup and recovery of critical data. The newest version further improves development productivity and reduces DB2 backup time.
“TestBase 5.1 has been a HUGE time saver for our operations. We currently house upwards of 300 million rows in TestBase databases, and with the new features of 5.1 we are able to delete and load this amount of data in less than an hour, as opposed to over 12 hours,” stated an IT Specialist for a large Federal Government Agency, one of SoftBase’s customers.
“We currently execute TestBase via batch to take nightly backups of over 200 databases, and with 5.1 we have been able to cut our batch processing time from 12 hours to 4 hours,” the IT Specialist continued. “TestBase has always been a great product, but the improvements from 4.5 to 5.1 are phenomenal!”
“TestBase’s new capabilities were requested by existing or prospective customers,” said CEO Steve Woodard. “Our development is driven by customer requests, as well as market relevant features such as security and compliance. Being sensitive to both our customers’ specific needs and the continuously changing needs of the DB2 z/OS community gives us the competitive edge to create software with unique capabilities that you won’t find anywhere else.”
