Pay Scale For Testers: Are You Paid Right ?

Considering the growth in the present days software testers have enormous potential and opportunities in the software testing industry. However, according to the survey conducted by PayScale pay packages in this field can vary by the role, employer, industry and geographic region.
With specialized training and certification one can get substantially higher salaries. Very often in software testing, the professionals with a combination of rich experience, industry certification & advanced training will get the best and highest-paying testing jobs.
For a senior-level role when the professionals get the training and certification required, they generally enjoy a corresponding hike in pay.

Software Test Engineer: Software Test Engineer is an entry level job and may set up & document simple test cases. Their annual package will be around Rs. 2.4L - 2.5L in India.
Associate Software Engineer: Associate Software Engineer role is to design, test, development and support software products. Their annual package will be around Rs. 2.5L - 2.6L in India.
Test/ Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer: The Test/ QA Engineer make sure that all of the programs & that everything in a website works properly according to a plan. Their annual package will be around Rs. 2.6L - 3.5L in India.
Software Engineer: The role of Software Engineer is to develop the program based on the requirements of the customer, test it, check it, maintain it & finally allows the customer to use the software. Their annual package will be around Rs. 3.5L - 4.2L in India.
Senior Test/ QA Engineer: Senior Test/ QA Engineer role is to define scopes & objectives, develops, implements QA practices & procedures test plans. Their annual package will be around Rs. 4.2L - 5.3L in India.
Senior Automation Engineer: Senior Automation Engineer role is to supervise & review all assigned tasks related to a project. They have to plan, assign tasks, monitor performance, reviewing results in order to provide a high quality product. Their annual package will be around Rs. 5.2L - 7.4L in India.
Software Test Lead: The role of Software Test Lead is to create a test infrastructure which supports robust communication & a cost effective testing framework, to implement & maintain effective testing process and also effectively leading the testing team. Their annual package will be around Rs. 7.4L - 8L in India.
