JIRA 1.5 for More Agile and Collaborative Testing
Bangalore: Zephyr, the fastest growing provider of Test Management solutions, at the Atlassian Summit announced a new product release designed to help customers accelerate Agile testing inside JIRA. The release of Zephyr for JIRA 1.5 helps project teams extend their JIRA 5 instance to include testing into their workflow and become more agile and collaborative than ever before.
Customers have found that this integration of testing within JIRA is huge because it involves the entire project team in testing and they don’t have to jump between applications. There is virtually no learning curve since the user interface is exactly like that of JIRA. With just the right amount of metrics that an agile software development team needs, Zephyr for JIRA provides test coverage and burndown charts that are key to getting software releases done efficiently.
Deb Cinkus, CEO of Polished Geek said “Prior to Zephyr for JIRA, we were using a combination of JIRA, Confluence and spreadsheets for test management. We were working on a very large, complex software project and needed a way to incorporate structured testing without the manual overload of text documents, email and trying to maintain a spreadsheet. One thing we love is you can’t even tell it’s a separate product. It looks and works exactly like JIRA. Zephyr for JIRA makes it easy to prioritize which components and features to test, determine which tests passed/failed, and track the severity and impact of bugs.”
Zephyr for JIRA is integrated into JIRA’s agile workflows, providing a more holistic execution experience. New burndown reports and advanced metrics allow project teams to predict when they will complete the testing cycle. Additionally, Zephyr is offering a free utility to migrate existing tests.
Testing involves multiple groups; PMs, Dev, QA, Business and Analysts. Testing is one of the challenges project teams face when trying to standardize all project activities inside JIRA. Zephyr for JIRA fosters more collaboration across the project team, making it easy for developers to write their own tests or review results, PMs to keep track of testing progress, Analysts and the Business to run User Acceptance Tests and QA to manage all of their testing.
