EcomNets Accessed for CMMI Level 3

Bangalore: EcomNets announced that it has achieved the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI-DEV) Level 3 Appraisal rating. The Standard CMMI Appraisal for Process Improvement (SCAMPI)-A Level 3 Appraisal was conducted from December 7-12, 2012 in accordance with the Software Engineering Institute’s publications Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development (CMMI-DEV), Staged Representation, Version 1.3 and in accordance with the Appraisal Requirements for the CMMI (ARC) version 1.3.

EcomNets CEO Raj Kosuri stated, "This is an extremely important milestone for our company. Having software development processes that meet these requirements is paramount to efficient and solid software development. Since software represents two-thirds of the engineering in most of our developments, this is a key to good development program performance."

CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.

CMMI has become a standard for measuring an organization’s capability to provide a process based approach to development of software to include software engineering and project management. Many government contracts today require a CMMI Maturity Level 3 to even bid for work. This rating will now allow EcomNets to compete for larger government contracts.
