Bangalore: Web application development is not only about designing the application and ensuring it is user friendly, but above all is to ensure that it is secured. Applications that we have today which are secured and hack resistant are those that have been built with security in mind.

We are just half way through 2012, however, Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, a nonprofit consumer education and advocacy project, detected 266 security breaches in various business and educational organizations in the first half of the year which has affected more than 18.5 million information.

In 2011, Ponemon Institute in its study reported that the cost of a data breach averages $5.5 Million or $194 per customer record. It may be noted that having a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) can reduce the cost per customer by up to 62%.
