19 Secure Messaging Products Drummond Certified

Bangalore: Drummond Group Inc., the trusted leader in interoperability software testing, announced on June 12th, the completion of its AS2-1Q12 automated interoperability test event in which 19 products are now Drummond Certified™. Participating companies from around the globe included Advantco International LLC, Axway, CLEO, Dell Boomi, EXTOL International Inc., GXS, Hewlett-Packard Company, IBM, KTNET, Liaison Technologies, Microsoft Corporation, /n software, SEEBURGER AG and TIBCO Software Inc.   

In addition, the new SHA-2 (Secure Hashing Algorithm) Optional Test Profile was introduced in this test event. AS2 Optional Test Profiles build upon the AS2 standard by request from industries that have additional requirements beyond what is specified in the standard. SHA-2 is being utilized by U.S. federal agencies, U.S. and European energy industry and the DEA's Controlled Substances Ordering Systems (CSOS). Axway, CLEO, Hewlett-Packard Company, /n software and SEEBURGER AG tested the SHA-2 Optional Test Profile in AS2-1Q12.

"SHA-1 is the default in AS2 and is widely used and accepted. AS2 products that add SHA-2 deliver on the emerging requirement in some industries for signing messages using SHA-2," says Rik Drummond, CEO of Drummond Group. "An additional benefit of Optional Test Profiles is that it allows software vendors to optionally incorporate the new functionality into their products as their release schedule permits."

Drummond Group's testing automation tool, InSitu®, also was utilized during this AS2 interoperability test round, including being enhanced to facilitate SHA-2 testing. The InSitu® technology allows the tester to automate the execution and evaluation of the test cases used for interoperability testing, including sending and receiving AS2 messaging. This provides testers with more time to focus on solving any interoperability issues.
