In the automation front, QTP is always considered as one of the most preferred tool. While the earlier versions of QTP did NOT do a good job in identifying WPF Objects, QTP 11 has made significant improvement. However, Test Complete is a good choice as they faired much better in identifying WPF objects and is much more affordable.
The call now needs to be done based on the budget.

Test Completeā€ is certainly a viable starting point for unit testing of Windows Presentation Foundation applications. It is not exactly intuitive and the documentation and support could be improved but it is pitched at the beginner with still a great of function for advanced users participating in advanced testing regimes.
