Software testing is an art. All books related to it are just to understand the concepts . There is no limit for learning testing. It requires passion, creativity and confidence. Testing is very much essential for any software to ensure the quality results.
All pages are good. I can mention few in specific like www.w3schools.com, Wikipedia etc.
Plans for the Future
At present I am working as Project Director. Hope to become one of the best known testing professional in the market.
The Journey So Far
I started my career with GE gurgaon as process associate and with quick span of time I reached process developer, associate consultant and lead associate consultant. I came to Malaysia in 2007 and performed roles such as test lead, Test manager and currently holding an position of Project Director
Currently working at
I am responsible for Malaysian operations in terms of delivery and sales for all the projects.
Areas for the Future
Automation(silk test, QTP etc)
Performance tools( load runner, silk performer etc)
Domain skill sets ( banking ,insurance, etc)
Good analytical skills
Passion to test.:-)
Degrees that Matter
I would suggest ISTQB certified( both foundation and advanced)
PMP for emerging managers
Most Important Lessons
The major lesson I learnt was on handling the conflict between customers/developer and testing team. And also learnt how to analyze and handle the different types of professional politics.
There are several people whom I consider as my role model. I usually pick the key characteristic from everyone.
Neeraj Gera - for people management , communication and discipline
Taru Arora- for handling resources and analytical skills
Kidambi/Taj/ Ravi / Lakshman and Krishna vk for management skill
Current and Previous Responsibilities
Currently responsible entire Malaysian operation in terms of project deliverables as well as sales for the company. In my previous roles it was limited only to managing an project.
No one is perfect in testing industry. This profession is like diamond . The pressure you take the more you shine. It requires loads of passion and patience.
Most Important Decisions
It was really a great decision to take up the project director role. All credits goes to my boss , Krishna for motivating me and making me realize of my potential. It's really not easy to swim in ocean when you have only swam in pond.:-)
Changes in the industry
It has become more competitive with the latest technologies being introduced . The complexity of the projects have increased. The turn around time to provide solution has decreased. Hence we have to be more analytical in providing solution / testing with less time.
