About Tripat Othi's family
I belong to a family where serving the Indian Army is a tradition. Both my grandfather and my father have served the Indian Army. I have also served the Army Education Corps for more than 16 years before taking premature retirement to start a new innings in the corporate world.
Most Important Decisions
The most important career decision which I took was to take premature retirement from the Army, as I wanted to make it big in the corporate world. Being a confident person I think my decision was a right one and now I realize that to achieve something great your risk should be equally challenging.
Current and Previous Responsibilities
In the corporate world I started my career as General Manager (Marketing) with an Immigration Company where my role to generate business for the Company. After lot of hard work and dedication I could prove myself and my work was highly appreciated. After this I joined my present Company as a CEO.
Most Important Lessons
I have learnt that we should be always optimistic and this optimism comes from sheer hard work, dedication and devotion. If you put in your 200% then you expect to achieve 100%. Otherwise half-hearted attempts lead us nowhere. I can say that we must have clear-cut strategy to achieve our goal.
Changes in the industry
Not much has changed. QA has the same importance which it used to had earlier.
Mr N. R. Narayana Murthy has always inspired me with his inter-personal skills. He has taken the Indian IT Industry to new and greater heights. We need to have more people like Mr Murthy who can lead this industry globally.
A Fine Balance:
When I am working I do not think about anything else and when I am at home, I am a son, brother, husband and a father. We should not mix up our family life with our work life.
The Journey So Far
My career journey has been great. I started my career as an Academic Counsellor with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. Apart from teaching assignment at IGNOU, I have also served as Education Instructor at HRDC, HQ Western Command. Then I entered the corporate world.
Plans for the Future
I see myself working for the next 15 years and achieve the zenith.
Points of inflection
As already mentioned in my previous answers, I have worked in different capacities in different organisations. I have lot of experience from teaching, marketing to HR.
Thanks for giving me the chance to express my views. I would like to say that nothing is impossible if we have determination to achieve it.
