We are educated small middle class family. Our parents migrated from Pakistan before Partition and I was born in Delhi but brought up in a small town in the middle of Madhya Pradesh: Amla. My only sister is settled in US. Have two sons both MBA and married. Three grand children: Two boys and a girl

Changes in the industry
I had worked for the HP Test & Measuring Instruments from 1970 to 1983. There is a major change in the test equipment in terms of automation and Micro computer controls. Miniaturization has also resulted in cost effective test solutions.Testing Industry has grown considerably and will do so infuture
Current and Previous Responsibilities
Have founded DSP Technologies in Jan 2009 after working for 40 years in corporate world (with 14 years with HP & 25+ years with Thales mainly). As an enterprenuer the challenges are different and so are the rewards. Was managing a team of over 20 professionals at HP and Network of reps at Thales.
Tech trends to watch out for
Convergence of IT, software & hardware. The engineer today has to be an expert in software, hardware and testing methods. Great place for learning different technologies.
Having spent most of the time in sales & marketing I have come across several people including my customers from whom I have learnt a lot. One person Suresh Rajpal ex MD HP India stands out as a role model due to his excellent Sales Skills and people management
The Journey So Far
Currently creator of DSP Technologies to provide professional sales and Marketing services to world class organisation of Professional Electronic Components. Prior to this Country Director for Thales Electron Devices 1983 to 2008, and before with Blue Star representing HP USA.
Points of inflection
Leaving Blue Star was one painful decision after learning almost everything there as far as sales skills are concerned. Transiting from handling 20 professionals to doing everything by oneself at Thales was a major challenge. Was instrumental in creating a solid network of reps to get the job done
